Tony Hankins came into the finals needing to somehow pull off two match wins against Jeff Shepherd Sr. to become "The Ultimate Cornholer" and that is what he did. Shepherd ran through the winner's bracket defeating Steve Hayes, Rob Russell, Brandon Duckett, and who else but Tony Hankins. Shepherd appeared to be the clear cut favorite to win the championship. Hankins defeated his teammate in the doubles competition Mike Alvey, Jason Scott, and then was defeated by Shepherd. Hankins dropped down to the loser's bracket and had to defeat Jason Scott again to get to the final.
As the sun slowly vanished, Tony Hankins found his rhythm by showing an array of shots to pull out two match wins for the title of "The Ultimate Cornholer".
