The Shooters Cornhole Doubles Division was a good one! So good, it would have "blown" you away. The wind made it very tough for all the players on Saturday to play their normal game. Most players spent the day trying to adjust their throw to get some kind of consistency, but the wind was all over the place. With that being said, there were still some good cornhole action to be seen. The tournament featured several solid teams to really good teams. The main attraction turned out to be the "Young Gunz", Kyle Treadway (19) and Derek King (12). Treadway & King defeated "The Guys", Matt and Bret (16) in the winners bracket in two straight games. Matt and Bret defeated Kevin Pinkerton and David "Shoe" Shoemaker in the finals of the losers bracket to get their chance at the "Young Gunz" again. Matt and Bret needed to win the best of three match to force a final one game only showdown. Guess what? They did. But, in the final game the "Young Gunz" showed a lot of maturity and kept their emotions intact and defeated "The Guys" to take home the championship of the Doubles Division. Finishing third was the always tough duo of Kevin Pinkerton and David "Shoe" Shoemaker. Other teams of note were; Buck Skaggs & Doug Kehys, Bernard Sickles & Jerry Gibson, Bill Tindle & Keith "Heavy Hitter" Blair, Shaun Lehman & Ryan "Get My Name Right" Aquiningoc.
As always ACO Louisville appreciates all of the players that came out and continue to strive to get better at this great sport of cornhole. Thanks for believing in this sport just as much as we do. --The Next Event -TURKEYHOLE CLASSIC will be November 28th at St. Stephen Gymnasium - (click here for details)

The Shooters Cornhole Singles Division ended up being a good one. The wind calmed down tremendously about 30 minutes into the tournament. The conditions became ideal for cornhole by the second round of games. The finals featured the steady play of Tony "I need a nickname"Hankins vs. the always tough out, Kevin "The Pink Panther" Pinkerton. Tony came out of the winners bracket and was waiting the winner of doubles partners Kevin Pinkerton and David "Shoe" Shoemaker. Kevin defeated "Shoe" to put himself in the finals again. You may remember Kevin made it to the finals at our VFW Cornhole and Annual Picnic Bash where he was defeated by Dale "Thumbs Up" Smith. Well, Kevin wanted a different outcome this time and gave a good effort, but came up short again. Kevin forced a final game showdown but couldn't pull it off as Tony proved to be too much on this day. Coming in third place was David Shoemaker. Other players of note were; Derek Williams, Mike Rice, and Terry Mathis.
