The rain forced us to move the tournament inside on Saturday. It wasn't a downpour but it was just enough that the we had to get started inside Shooter's. As the day went on we eventually played some of the loser's brackets games outside. Dale Smith and Paul "Gunner" Gunter never had to worry about playing outside because they were never forced to play in the loser's bracket. Dale and Gunner dominated the field. In the second round Dale and Gunner defeated Matt Guy and Tony Hankins, after receiving a bye in the first round. Matt and Tony then went on to lose their next game in the loser's bracket to Chris Eickholtz and Danny Seals, making them a victim of two and done. Dale and Gunner went on to defeat Bret Guy and Charlie Fletcher, Stuart Baird and Jerry Kanapple to make them the overall winner in the winner's bracket. In the loser's bracket, Bret Guy and Charlie Fletcher defeated Brandon Duckett and Blake Meyers (a team that could cause some problems for people down the road!) for third place. Stuart Baird and Jerry Kanapple defeated Bret Guy and Charlie Fletcher to guarantee them second place and a chance again at Dale and Gunner. On this day, not very many teams could have beaten Dale and Gunner, and they went on to defeat Stuart and Jerry in the finals. The team of Dale Smith and Paul Gunter were as tough as any team around on this day and won rather easily. Other Teams of Note: David Rogersand Mike Payne finished in the top six with some solid performances throughout the tournament. Kevin Warner and Sheri Eggleton from Indiana also finished in the top six.

AMERICAN CORNHOLE ORGANIZATION - KENTUCKY
The ACO Is The Governing Body For The Sport Of Cornhole
Matt Guy looking to come out aggressive and take care of business in the singles after his doubles day ended quickly. That is exactly what he did. Matt defeated Bret Guy, Steve Claycomb, and then had to defeat Charlie Fletcher twice. Charlie Fletcher after being defeated by Guy in the winners bracket defeated Brandon Duckett in the championship of the losers bracket to get the opportunity to go against Guy again. Charlie came up short in the finals and finished in second place. Charlie was solid all day. Coming in third was Brandon Duckett from Mt. Washington, KY. Brandon is definitely an up and comer in the world of cornhole. Brandon defeated Stuart Baird who is currently ranked 6th in the ACO overall SCR system to fget the opportunity at Charlie Fletcher. Stuart Baird defeated Steve Claycomb to get to the third place game, but came up short and finished the day in fourth place.
Overall, it was a great time with some great people. We would like to thank Shooter's and the players for a fun day!

**RECORD BREAKING PERFORMANCE**
Matt Guy breaks 130 mark on SCR
After most of the tournament participants had left the building there was one man still throwing on the center court. That man was Matt Guy. After a disappointing doubles performance, but a dominating singles showing, Matt decided he would try his luck at improving his SCR. Matt already had a 129.33 which is 11.33 points better than Steve Vanderver, who is currently second in the rankings. Matt was on a mission and wanted to break the 130 mark and we all knew it would just be a matter of time before he did. Round One: Matt finished with a 132. He finished the round throwing 22 of 24 cornholes. Round Two: Matt finished with a 127. Matt started the round with 27 of 32 bags being cornholes, but cooled in the final six frames leaving some work to be done in the final round. Round Three: Matt finished with a 133. Matt finished the round by making 22 of 24 cornholes. It came down to his final two bags and he needed both of them to be cornholes to break his own record. Matt's first bag of the two remaining was about 16 inches short of the hole. Could it be possible that the "King of Cornhole" champion three years running, the "MJ of Cornhole", aka "The King - period" CHOKED? Say it isn't so! The next question was - could he somehow pull off a miraculous shot and get both bags in. The bag on the board was on line for the hole but was well short. This led to what some of the remaining people that was still watching are calling "The Shot". Before he threw the final bag, I was asked if I thought Guy would get both of them in the hole. My exact words were "No Way". I thought there was very little chance to keep both bags on line with the hole or if he did keep them on line with the hole, I thought the final bag would go off the back of the board. Mainly, because of the speed it was going to come in with. Matt released the final bag and threw it basically parallel with the ground in hoping to catch the bag at the end of the board and push both bags in the hole. The final bag landed almost on top of the bag on the board and pushed it into the hole as the final bag went airborne again (the truth) and finally dropped in the hole. Everyone jumped to their feet (besides Bret he was sleeping) and held their mouths wide open. Matt took off running and even surprised himself with what is simply being called "The Shot".
